Asparagus 'Ariane' 3l

Outstanding new early/mid season variety bred in Germany. One of the most productive of all asparagus.  Attractive purple bracts that contrast nicely with the green spears. Superior spear quality - tender with tight tips.  Very heavy cropper, exceptional flavour.  Outstanding performer. 

This product is supplied in a 3l pot but is not necessarily pot-grown. 

Asparagus grows best in light, well-drained soil, sheltered from cold winds.  On heavy soils it is recommended using a raised bed containing plenty of well-rotted compost to ensure healthy growth. 

Plant 38cm (15in) apart.

Aftercare: Allow the crowns to develop by not cropping the first year.  Feed in the spring with a general purpose fertiliser.  Cut foliage back almost to ground level in autumn and apply a mulch of compost.
