RUBUS idaeus RASPBERRY Twotimer® Sugana® 3L

Twotimer Sugana is a new raspberry bred in Switzerland by Lubera and as its name suggests, it is capable of producing two crops a year. As a primocane, it will crop on the new wood, but unlike other varieties, you should leave these stems to re-crop the following June, whilst training the new stems in for the following autumn’s crop. Sugana has as a very upright, stable growth and good resistance to phytophthora. The stunning fruit is very large, conical, bright red, very firm and easy to pick.

RUBUS fruticosus BLACKBERRY Merton Thornless

Mid season thornless variety. Generous cropper of medium to large sized fruit with excellent flavour. A vigorous but exceptionally manageable variety due to the thornfree branches making maintenance simple. For best results, plant in half shade or full sun although Merton will tolerate shade and soil with less than efficient drainage. Hardy but can be vulnerable to hard frosts on very exposed sites.

RIBES nigrum BLACKCURRANT Ben Sarek

Bred by the Scottish Crop Research Institute, Ben Sarek is an excellent early variety with a neat, compact growth habit making it ideal for growing in smaller gardens.  Both vigorous and high yielding, producing heavy crops of very large glossy black currants that have a superb mouthwatering flavour and are of excellent quality.  The fruit is produced on short strigs for easy picking, but can be harvested equally easily by simply shaking the laden branches.  Due to its tendency to produce such large crops, the branches may need supported just prior to picking time.  The fruit is ideal for all purposes and freezes well.  Due to its compact growth, Sarek can be planted very close together so is perfect for creating a low growing hedge.  In-bred frost resistance and also resistant to powdery mildew.  Very highly recommended variety, considered by some to be the best garden variety in cultivation.

RIBES uva-crispa GOOSEBERRY Hinnonmaki Green

An excellent very hardy and vigorous mid-season variety. Specifically bred in Finland for hardiness and disease resistance, Hinnonmaki Green is a consistently prolific cropper of very large, well flavoured fruit. The fruit is olive green in colour and has an excellent sweet, aromatic taste – ideal for eating fresh off the bush when fully ripe. Particularly resistant to powdery mildew. Eventual height and spread: 1m (3ft). Cropping season: mid July. Self fertile.

RHEUM rhabarbarum RHUBARB Stockbridge Arrow 3L

This superb Yorkshire bred variety has a growing reputation for being one of the best modern varieties of rhubarb available.  Heavy cropper of long thick stems, dark red in colour, and topped with distinctive arrow shaped leaves – hence the name!  Excellent flavour and fully hardy with easy to pull stems.  Ideal for forcing, recommended for freezing.
