RUBUS fruticosus BLACKBERRY Loch Tay 3L
Bred by SCRI and popular amongst commercial growers due to its many fine qualities. Similar to the very popular Loch Ness and easily it’s equal, Loch Tay features the advantage of a much earlier fruiting season condensed in a four week period. The spine free canes feature the same semi-erect, compact habit of Loch Ness which makes it an ideal choice for smaller gardens, requiring little by way of support. The fruit is firm making it less susceptible to rain damage, and keeps well on the bush. The berries are packed full of sweet flavour – superior to that of Loch Ness, and the crops are of a good size. A worthwhile accompaniment (or alternative) to Loch Ness – highly recommended.
