Description

VACCINIUM corymbosum BLUEBERRY Sunshine Blue

Sunshine Blue is a highly ornamental variety, developed specifically for this purpose with several desirable features. It is very compact, with semi-evergreen blue tinted foliage. Blooms abundantly with flowers in the form of beautiful small pink bells. Consistent cropper of top-quality fruit with a top-class richly sweet flavour. The first variety with both an equally high quality of fruit and ornamental attractiveness. Upright, dense rounded growing habit makes it an excellent potted plant for patios/terraces – also making it a great choice if you don’t have much room. Mid-late season ripening, often still picking until the first frosts.

  • Self fertile but as with all blueberries, cross pollination with another variety will increase yield.
  • Height & Spread 1m x 50cm
  • Crops: July -September

Received my BlueBerry Sunshine Blue this morning and I was expecting to receive another quality plant similar to my other plant, (HorteBlue Petite). I am sorry to say it wasn’t. The package was similar to the last one but the only thing is, my last one was in a 3L pot, this Sunshine Blue is a 5L pot. So why did tit come in a smaller box. The top of the plant was squashed in and a lot of the leaves were lying on the top of the pot, this was before I had taken it out. Also the leaves themselves are going brown and curling up. I will preserver with it though and see how it goes. I don’t think I will be buying another 5L pot again though.

I am sorry to leave a negative review after the other one, but I am telling it has it is.
